I've had my Q5 for 4 years, no problems. But cars are getting complicated now. I'm not sure if I should get an extended warranty. What do you think?

Hmmm you have to think about the cost of the warranty and what you"d pay for repairs down the road. If it covers major components and offers reasonable coverage, it could be worth it. But if its pricey and you have a good track record with the car, you might decide to skip it and save your cash. Its all about what feels right for you.

Given how complex cars are becoming, an extended warranty might be a good idea for peace of mind, especially as your Q5 ages and parts potentially wear out.

Thanks for the advice! I'm still considering my options, especially since I'm not a big fan of extended warranties lol

I'm not a fan of extended warranties either. I figure if a car can't make it 5 or 6 years without major issues, it's probably not a very good car to begin with.

It depends on how long you are going to keep the car. If you plan to get another one in the next few years, then I think you are ok without the extended warranty. Just my humble thought.

Extended warranties are always a tough call.

Four years with no problems on your Q5 is a great track record, which makes the decision harder. On one hand, you've been lucky so far, and maybe that'll continue. On the other hand, you're right, cars are getting more complex, and repairs can be expensive.

An extended warranty is basically an insurance policy against future repairs BUT always read the fine print carefully because some warranties have lots of exclusions.

If your Q5’s been reliable, you might not need an extended warranty, but if you plan to keep it longer, it could offer peace of mind for potential costly repairs. Just consider the warranty cost vs. possible repair expenses down the line.

I completely agree, if your Q5 has been trouble-free and you haven't experienced any major issuess, an extended warranty might not be necessary. However, if you're planning to hold onto it for a few more years, it could provide peace of mind. Knowing that you're covered for potential big repair costs can sometimes be worth the investment!

I’m not usually a fan of extended warranties, to be honest. I feel like they’re often not worth it unless you’re really worried about potential issues. But with how complicated cars are getting, I can see why you’re considering it. What did you end up going with?
